CUNA Mutual Group's chief ethics and compliance officer has been elected board chair for the Compliance & Ethics Forum for Life Insurers.

Steve Koslow, a CUNA Mutual senior vice president, will take the helm of a board comprising chief compliance and ethics officers of CEFLI's member companies and representatives of its affiliate membership organizations.

“Steve has served on CEFLI's board of directors for a number of years, and we're so proud he's been given this opportunity,” said Faye Patzner, senior vice president and chief legal officer at CUNA Mutual in Madison, Wis.

At CUNA Mutual, Koslow leads employees responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory market conduct requirements as well as assessing compliance risk, monitoring compliance work and maintaining governance over the company's documented policies, procedure and standards.

A Northwestern University law school graduate, Koslow joined CUNA Mutual Group in 2007 after working as a director in the governance, risk and compliance group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Chicago.

He has published articles in several industry publications and is a frequent conference speaker, CUNA Mutual said.

CEFLI provides knowledge and insights for compliance and ethics professionals in the life insurance industry, the company said.
