The $12 million, 1,643-member Bay Media Federal Credit Union in San Francisco has merged into the $824 million, 42,146-member San Francisco Fire Credit Union in San Francisco.
The merger's conversion was completed Sunday, and San Francisco's Fire CU branches were available to Bay Media FCU members Monday, according to Bay Media FCU's site.
“With a proud history of serving employees of the San Francisco Chronicle among other Bay Area employers, we're honored to continue this tradition of service to Bay Media's 1,600 members who have joined the SF Fire Credit Union family,” San Francisco CU said in a statement.
With the merger, San Francisco Fire CU added its fourth branch, located in downtown's Mint Plaza.
In other California merger news, the $11 million, 1,085-member Electric FCU of San Jose has merged into the $359 million, 39,856-member Alliance CU in San Jose, according the Department of Financial Institutions, California's regulator, which said the merger took effect Nov. 30.
