The $326 million, 58,400-member Mainstreet Credit Union in Lenexa, Kan., said Thursday it has completed the merger of the 655-member Bonner Springs Federal Credit Union in Bonner Springs, Kan.
Mainstreet CU said the official merger date was Oct. 31 and that the former members of Bonner Springs FCU received full access to their new credit union's online and ATM services and 10 branches in the Kansas City area as of Jan. 1.
The merged credit union's employees also remain in place, Mainstreet CU said.
The Bonner Springs merger is the latest in a series over the past few years that also included taking in Free State CU in Lawrence, Leavenworth Teachers' and Community CU, Faith Financial FCU in Kansas City and Wyandotte Credit Union.
“Today's economy, changing regulations and consumers' desire for mobile accessibility makes it more difficult for smaller institutions to compete in the marketplace,” said John Beverlin, president/CEO of Mainstreet Credit Union. “We welcome our new members from Bonner Springs Federal Credit Union and look forward to providing them the high-quality service and financial products they need.”
