The CUNA Technology Council in Madison, Wis., is now offering a new white paper on the balance between deploying software in-house or offsite and using cloud and virtualization tools.

“In House or As A Service” notes that the trend is toward off-site hosting and provides reasons why. The paper also stresses the need to ask service providers and partners the right questions and to stay on top of tech challenges and potential off-site problems.

Regardless of channel, the ultimate goal remains the same, the council noted: To serve members needs and demands while protecting data privacy and personal financial information.

“The key, it seems, is to determine the right time to make the shift—considering each operational need as it arises, and balancing costs with control and security with flexibility,” the Tech Council said in its announcement.

CUNA Council members can receive this and more than 300 other white papers for free. They can be purchased by non-members for $50 each.

The paper is available online in the white paper section of www.cunacouncils.org.
