The $1.7 billion JSC Federal Credit Union of Houston disassociated with CUNA and the Texas Credit Union League for 2013 to cut out the redundant expense of belonging to two trade associations, President/CEO Mike Brown said in a statement.

“Both CUNA and TCUL are fine organizations and we have nothing negative to say about CUNA or the League,” Brown said. “We believe it is time for us to support a single trade organization.”

He added that the credit union will review its association with trade organizations annually. Chief Operations Officer Paul Maslonka said JSCFCU is currently a member of NAFCU.
