The $294 million Belvoir Federal Credit Union in Woodbridge, Va., is now offering its 27,000 members mobile bill pay and remote deposit checking for Apple and Android devices.

Belvoir Federal said approximately 4,000 users have adopted its mobile banking service since the app was released last April in the Google Play and Apple Store in April 2012. The new upgrade allows members to pay bills, select payment amounts, set payment dates, and view scheduled bills, as well as take pictures of checks and deposit them through smartphones.

“We must continue to evolve technologically, so we can provide our members the most up-to-date methods of communicating with us,” said Jason Lindstrom, Belvoir Federal's chief marketing officer.

Access Softek is the technology provider for Belvoir Federal's mobile banking services, the credit union said.
