The National Credit Union Foundation said it has distributed more than 35,000 copies of personal finance author Jean Chatzky's new book, "Money Rules", since it launched the offer three weeks ago.
Credit unions can get the book for a substantially reduced rate – with a contribution to the NCUF – and can then give them to employees and members. Requests for a thousand copies or more get the donor's name included on a sticker on the front cover. They already come with "Compliments of NCUF" on the cover."
Takers so far, the NCUF said, include credit unions such as the $9.4 billion Schools First FCU in Santa Ana, Calif., and the Montana Credit Union Network, the NCUF said.

"By offering 'Money Rules' through our on-boarding program, we can provide new members with some helpful financial tips and thank them for joining our credit union," said Mark Rapp, senior vice president of strategic marketing at SchoolsFirst.
"We see such value in this simple little book that we intend to give a copy to every official family member of our affiliated credit unions as a thank you for membership," said Tracie Kenyon, the Montana league's president/CEO. "Additionally, we will provide a copy to every person that completes or volunteers in one of our outreach programs as a useful tool to show our appreciation."
Ordering information is available online. Chatzky is financial editor for NBC's Today show and has been booked as a keynote speaker at CUNA's 2013 GAC in February in Washington, D.C.
