Community Choice Credit Union in suburban Farmington Hills, Mich., recently helped to keep a holiday tradition alive by teaming up with Channel 95.5 Mojo in the Morning, a popular radio show, by helping a needy family.

The $474 million, 50,500-member Community Choice Credit Union and 120 team members pitched in for the second year in a row to help out the Torres family of Romeo, Mich.

The family received an early visit from Santa who, with the credit union and radio station's help, staged a "Breaking & Entering" event, leaving behind truckloads of food, necessities and gifts.

Jami and Robert Torres, both Marine veterans, have been dealt a tough hand, bouncing back from service, along with Jami's growing health concerns.

The money raised – $2,500 – purchased home and personal necessities, including clothing and toys, and help with the bills.

"Community Choice Credit Union has a tremendous respect for those who provide military service for our country." said Robert Bava, CEO of Community Choice. "We are thankful for the Torres' sacrifice while enlisted, and honored to be able to give back in their time of need. Our prayers are with Jamie and the whole Torres family in hopes for a safe, healthy and happy new year."
