Palmetto State credit unions pitched in Tuesday for this year's annual turkey fry by the Miracle Hill Rescue Mission, operator of several homeless shelters around upstate South Carolina.

The credit unions donated 150 turkeys to the group, who gathered at a Miracle Hill facility in Spartanburg, S.C., to roast, fry and smoke more than 300 turkeys altogether for the big day on Thursday.

"This donation is a true blessing" said a representative with Miracle Hill. "We started with only 40 turkeys this year, but thanks to the generosity of the credit unions so many more hungry men, women, and children will have a hot meal this Thanksgiving."
