The $585 million, 55,100-member Red Canoe Credit Union in Longview, Wash., is now using a teller management system from Financial Management Solutions Inc. of Alpharetta, Ga.

The software is allowing Red Canoe to analyze transaction activity and optimize branch workforce scheduling at its seven branches.

“This uniform data streamlined our process and gave us an apples-to-apples comparison between our different locations,” said Rich Wilson, the credit union's chief financial officer.

“Are we doing the best job that we can in utilizing part-time tellers, and can we better schedule them during peak transaction volume times?  Can we do a better job at identifying our top performers and duplicating their best practices?  With this actionable business intelligence, we are in a great position to improve our workforce optimization,” he said.

FMSI said it now has about 115 credit union clients, including 32 that signed on in 2012.
