The NCUA isn't ruling out the possibility it may cancel board meetings next year, as it did in 2012 in the months of February, April and June.

NCUA Public Affairs Specialist John Fairbanks said the Regulatory Relief Initiative remains ongoing – as part of its regulatory relief effort, the NCUA this year wrote new regulations to lessen the burden on credit unions, and slowed the pace of proposed and finalized regs. The initiative resulted in the canceled meetings.

"We publish this schedule so people can get these meetings on their calendars," Fairbanks said. "They are subject to change or cancelation as may be desirable or necessary."
