The $586 million Freedom Credit Union in Warminster, Pa., is offering its 59,000 members emergency relief loans in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
The credit union said it has committed $2 million to the loans, which it said will have a very low fixed rate regardless of credit score and can be for up to$1,500 for 18 months.
The credit union said applications for the loans will be taken until the $2 million is exhausted or Dec. 31.
Freedom CU is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, performs volunteer service or attends school in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery or Philadelphia counties and it has branches in Philadelphia, Abington, Lansdale and Warminster.
