CO-OP Shared Branching, the shared branching arm of CO-OP Financial Services, is reporting that several credit unions which offer shared branching were out of power in the Northeast and that the CUSO was working with the credit unions to help restore service.

Craig Beach, chief operating officer for CO-OP Shared Branching in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., said Thursday that four of those credit unions were knocked offline for lack of power in New York, one in Pennsylvania and one in New Jersey. 

He said this translates into 11 branches spread across the three states that are unavailable to credit union members seeking shared branching services and an additional six with restricted hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The CUSO has also worked with two large credit unions in the affected area to use shared branching services as part of the disaster protocol to restore member services.
