The $1 billion Dupaco Community Credit Union of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, threw a get-to-know-you meeting Oct. 26, and the guest of honor was 1st District U.S. Congressman Bruce Braley.
Democrat Braley, who the credit union said is the only congressman from the Hawkeye state to co-sponsor member business lending legislation, gained Cedar Rapids constituents as a result of redistricting.
More than 67,000 Dupaco members reside in Braley's district, said David Klavitter, senior vice president, marketing. The meeting was attended by more than 30 credit union executives, staff and members.
Braley is facing Republican challenger Ben Lange in the general election Nov. 6.
