Nine credit unions participated in the Kansas Credit Union Association Make A Difference campaign that gave $15,000 worth of gas to unsuspecting consumers throughout the state last week.

Consumers either received $25 worth of gas at participating service stations or a $25 gas gift card. The gifts were given to consumers in Ark City, Emporia, Topeka, Wichita, Winfield, and Warnego.

"Credit unions were founded on the idea of people helping people," said Marla Marsh, President/CEO of the Kansas Credit Union Association. "As not for profit financial cooperatives, credit unions exist to support their members and their local communities."
