The $3.2 billion Mid-Atlantic Corporate Federal Credit Union said it has launched its Rekindle initiative, which urges credit unions to work together rather than competitively, leveraging their shared experiences to create innovative expense reducing and revenue-generating ideas.

The project was started by a small group of credit unions in search of collaborative and back-office innovation, the Middletown, Pa.-based corporate said in a release.

A three minute-video called “The Story of Rekindle” was part of the launch; the introductory video, which explains the initiative, is posted on the Rekindle website.

“Rekindle is an effort to inspire and create solutions to ensure credit unions' survival,” said Jay Murray, the corporate's president/CEO.

“Collaboration works – and Mid-Atlantic Corporate is proof of that. Our corporate was born from this cooperative spirit more than 35 years ago,” Murray said. “Now, we want to give back to our credit union community by leading the charge to stimulate necessary change before it's too late.”
