This fall, small businesses across Michigan will hear how credit unions have increased their business lending efforts over the past few years.
CUcorp, a subsidiary of the Michigan Credit Union League in Lansing, Mich., will run two radio spots starting on Oct. 8 to help raise awareness that credit unions continue to support local businesses and the state's economy, the league said.
To coincide with print and digital business publication advertising that will run in October, November and December, the radio spots will run through Dec. 23.
The league said after the presidential election in November, when consumers turn their attention to holiday shopping, the radio spots will support Invest in America, with a focus on member discounts from Sprint and General Motors.
Formed in late 2008 by CUcorp, Invest in America provides consumers with discounts, supports credit unions with a program designed to increase member loyalty, and funds financial literacy initiatives.
The radio spots will continue through Christmas to take advantage of holiday gift-buying and year-end auto sales, according to the league.
Consumers will also be asked to visit creditunionlink.org to learn more about credit union business lending, the league said. Visitors can run a search by ZIP code that generates a list of credit unions offering business loans.
