Symitar said more than 500 people have begun using its new collaborative marketplace for customized add-ons to its Episys core processing platform.

The San Diego-based division of Jack Henry & Associates of Monett, Mo., formally launched the PowerOn Marketplace last month for users of the customization tool by that name.

In the first month, the company said, there have been 506 users, 1,666 downloads, 42 reviews, 53 solutions published and six more in the review process.

“We are very excited to see the PowerOn Marketplace come to fruition. It's easy to navigate and find solutions that can quickly fulfill our business needs,” said Frank Broering, assistant IT manager at the $724 million KEMBA Financial Credit Union in the Columbus suburb of Gahanna, Ohio.

“I hope that credit unions will leverage each other's solutions so that they evolve beyond what an individual credit union could create on their own,” Broering said.

Credit unions will have the option of charging for their solutions beginning in January, the company said. A similar collaborative marketplace was launched last year by Open Solutions Inc. of Glastonbury, Conn.

Symitar provides core processing and other solutions to more than 700 credit unions.
