MECU has also received many awards and recognitions for its service and commitment to the community. In 2010, Morgan State University of Baltimore created an award in Hash's honor to acknowledge his unwavering commitment to the development of young people. The Bert J. Hash, Jr. Mentoring Award is given annually to an honors student there. He also serves on many boards within the community and the industry.
He also was named CEO of the Year in the 2007 Trailblazer Awards from Credit Union Times.
Hash has been a CUES member since 1997. He was honored by CUES in 2008 when inducted into the CUES Hall of Fame in 2008, said Fred Johnson, CUES president/CEO.
“I'm so pleased we can once again honor Bert,” Johnson said. “His contributions to the movement are substantial.”
Hash will be honored at CUES CEO/Executive Team Network on Nov. 4 at The Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach in Manalapan, Fla.
CUES will also honor six CUES Hall of Fame inductees:
