With Friday's launch of CU Homepage.com, Tammy Holtzmeier, president of business development/marketing firm Profound Communications in Cleveland, has realized her dream of providing an insider's guide to the credit union industry.

“CU Homepage started as a means to solve problem. We're good at reading our own press but that's where we drop the ball,” said Holtzmeier, a former credit union CEO who serves as publisher of the aggregate news site, during the official launch party.

“Working at credit unions we all have a finite amount of time to keep up and read about the latest happenings, innovations and I wanted to widen exposure to all the good ideas out there not just within the industry but beyond,” she said.

Wanting it to be available to credit union staff across all levels, the free site offers an array of not just news and blog links but also everything from polls, peer advice and a job board to trends and a customizable dashboard, where users can add news widgets based on their interests and needs.

According to Holtzmeier, the move was ultimately designed to help encourage collaboration, as anyone can contribute, share their success stories and challenges along the way.

The site includes an ongoing Twitter conversation– #CUTT25 – comprising credit union industry participants, including Sarah Snell Cooke, publisher/editor-in-chief of Credit Union Times.
