LAS VEGAS — This year's annual conference of the American Credit Union Mortgage Association is focusing more on the marketing of credit union housing finance programs and less on the nuts and bolts of mortgage lending.
“We believe the word is finally getting out that credit unions make mortgage loans,” ACUMA President Robert Dorsa said as the conference got under way Monday at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
“Now we are focusing on helping members and the general public understand how a credit union can help them achieve their housing dreams,” Dorsa said.
This conference, the group's 16th, is organized on the theme “Making Member Dreams Come True” and runs through Thursday.
ACUMA said 340 executives from more than 100 credit unions and CUSOs are expected to attend.
