A website about the transition to EMV cards in the United States is now being offered by Card Services for Credit Unions.

The EMV Essentials website includes explanations of chip-and-pin technology embedded in the EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) cards already widely used overseas, as well as a timeline for the liability shift through 2017.

"While the U.S. is the last large marketplace to adopt EMV, the foundation for acceleration for EMV migration is under way," CSCU said in a statement.
