Bluepoint Solutions and Malauzai Software have announced a partnership that intends to bring a mobile remote deposit capture solution to credit unions that can be rapidly deployed and be up and running without substantial upfront financial commitments.
"In the mobile market, rapid deployment is key," said Robb Gaynor, chief product officer and co-founder of Malauzai, in a prepared statement. "With this integration, when an institution selects Malauzai for mobile banking they get a platform that is pre-wired for mobile check deposit. They can simply turn on our fully integrated check capture software and avoid the need to find a separate vendor and endure a painful installation and testing period."
In an interview, Gaynor elaborated that Austin, Texas-based Malauzai – which has an established relationship with Catalyst, the large corporate credit union – presently provides mobile banking to around 20 credit unions as well as another 70 community banks.
Andrew Tilbury, chief marketing officer at Bluepoint in Henderson, Nev., added that his company already provides mobile RDC to "around 25 credit unions."
The Bluepoint mobile RDC product is based on technology licensed by Mitek, a leading developer in the field.
Gaynor noted that pricing of mobile RDC has shifted – "Mitek now gets it, they are pricing the technology much more attractively for the community space."
Gaynor said the Malauzai goal is "that within 12 months, we want at least 40% of our financial institution customers to offer mobile RDC."
