The day after she spoke to the nation at the Republican National Convention, Ann Romney was at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Wednesday morning to help with the ribbon cutting for a new playground.

A similar "leave-behind" project at a Charlotte, N.C., hospital will take place next week at the Democratic National Convention, continuing a national credit union tradition of community service projects in nominating convention cities.

The playground features equipment designed to enhance the rehabilitation process and at the ribbon cutting, Romney, wife of presidential nominee Mitt Romney, thanked credit unions for their fundraising efforts and called the project one way to help "make people's lives better."

The project was sponsored by CUNA, National Journal, the League of Southeast Credit Unions, CUNA Mutual and CO-OP Financial Services.
