The 20,000 members of the McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union in East Windsor, N.J., are now being offered an iPad app for their mobile banking.
The $293 million credit union said that makes it one of about 4% of credit unions in the country to offer a tablet app. Intuit Financial Services of Calabasas, Calif., provided the technology.
Earlier this year, McGraw-Hill FCU added mobile remote deposit checking for users of the Apple and Android apps, which also uses Intuit software. The credit union said 40% of its members currently use the smartphone apps and it expects similar adoption for its new iPad app, available at the iTunes store.
"We have a responsibility to help consumers achieve financial wellness in everything we do, which includes offering caring service, better rates and minimal fees, as well as delivering leading edge remote-access technology," said Shawn Gilfedder, McGraw-Hill FCU president/CEO.
"McGraw-Hill FCU has positioned itself to exceed the financial service needs of an increasingly mobile consumer base," Gilfedder said.
