The $1.3 billion Volunteer Corporate Credit Union elected two new members to its board and re-elected a third during its annual meeting Aug. 16 in Franklin, Tenn.
It's been a big week for Peoples FCU President/CEO Tom Brewer, president/CEO of the $95 million Peoples FCU of Nitro, W.Va., who was newly elected to a three-year term on the VolCorp board after testifying Monday before the House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit during a field hearing in Charleston, W.Va.
Rick Mikels, president/CEO of the $14 million ETMA FCU of Louisville, Tenn., will also join the VolCorp board, and Ken Swann, president/CEO of the $224 million City of Memphis CU was re-elected to a three year term.
During the meeting, Swann was elected chairman. Other elected officers include Gary Land, vice chairman, representing the $146 million Chattanooga Area Schools FCU of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Janice Jones, secretary, from the $148 million United Southeast FCU of Bristol, Tenn.; and John Jacoway, treasurer, from the $514 million Southeast Financial CU of Nashville, Tenn. All newly elected board members are the president/CEOs of their credit unions.
Other board members include Wade Stapleton, president/CEO of the $48 million Lifeway CU of Nashville; Todd Swims, president/CEO of the $170 million Leaders CU of Jackson, Tenn.; and Bonnie Sensing, president/CEO of the $19 million Nashville Fireman's CU of Nashville.
VolCorp finalized a merger with West Virginia Corporate FCU in February.
