The $15 billion Pentagon Federal Credit Union of Alexandria, Va., has announced a new relationship with the American Medical Association, the largest association of medical doctors and medical students in the U.S.

"It is my pleasure to welcome AMA members to our organization," said James Schenck, PenFed's executive vice president.  "I believe that our financial products are some of the best available in the marketplace today. As such, we are proud to make them available to an outstanding group of medical professionals."

PenFed will open courtesy membership accounts for AMA members interested in joining the credit union, allowing AMA members to apply for a suite of PenFed products such as exclusive, custom-branded credit cards. AMA members also will have access to new and used car loans, checking/savings accounts and other personal loans.

"We are proud to add PenFed as a provider in the AMA Member Value Program," said the AMA's senior vice president of Publishing and Business Services, Robert Musacchio.  "The AMA's Member Value Program provides excellent resources and savings that are useful to physicians and their practices."
