The $71 million Northern Communities Credit Union of Duluth, Minn., plans to convert to the NewSolutions core processing system from Share One of Memphis, Tenn., in October, the credit union and company said.
The 7,850-member Northern Communities currently runs on the Fiserv Spectrum platform, according to the Technology Survey from Callahan & Associates.
"Ever climb a really big hill, or even a mountain? If you have, you know it's hard work but once you get there, the view is terrific. We're climbing a similar mountain here at your credit union — by installing a new core operations system that will make your experience with us better than ever," a posting on the credit union's website said.
Larry Champeaux, president/CEO, said, "We plan an aggressive product offering that will include mobile banking with remote deposit capture, a personal financial management system, and other electronic services so we can be more relevant in this competitive environment."
Share One said Northern Communities CU scrutinized five core processors in its RFP process before selecting the Memphis CUSO, which now has nearly 90 credit union clients and its first in Minnesota.
"We use a customized approach with each new client and will bring unique system configurations to Northern Communities. We are also helping them sort out their third-party needs and reconciling many current job functions for maximum efficiencies in their work flow," said Scott Eungard, vice president of sales and marketing at Share One.
