The Golden 1 Credit Union, Sacramento, Calif., named Sherry Greathouse vice president of marketing. Greathouse, who has 20 years of marketing experience, including 10 years in financial services, most recently held the position of senior marketing manager for Wells Fargo. She holds a bachelor of science degree from San Francisco State University.
Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union, Van Nuys, Calif., has announced the appointment of Evany J. Perkins as vice president of branch operations and communications. In her new role, Perkins will oversee all branches, member support, the communications center and branch operations. Perkins comes to LAPFCU after most recently serving as vice president of member services for Los Angeles Firemen's Credit Union. There, she oversaw the call center, operations, card services, branch, business development and the risk management departments. Previously, she also served as assistant vice president of financial services with Christian Community CU, where she provided direct leadership to the middle management team and oversaw the call center, branch receptionist and fulfillment. Perkins has a bachelor of science degree in business management.
TruWest Credit Union, Tempe, Ariz., announced the appointment of Jennifer Kimmell as vice president of deposit services, Brad Tanberg as vice president of finance and Timothy Vigneaux as vice president of mortgages. Kimmell has been promoted to the vice president of deposit services and contact center. She began her career with TruWest in 2005 as a branch manager and in 2009 was promoted to Arizona district manager. She became vice president of deposit services and contact center in June 2012. Kimmell has a degree in business management and is currently attending the Western Credit Union National Association Management School. She is also actively involved with the Mountain West Credit Union Association. Tanberg began his career with TruWest Credit Union in 1999 as internal audit manager and was promoted to finance manager in 2004. He was then promoted to vice president of finance in April 2012. He has a degree in finance and a post-baccalaureate certificate of accountancy from Arizona State University. Vigneaux has a degree in business administration and more than 15 years of experience in the mortgage industry. He has held a variety of management positions in which he has been responsible for architecting new departments and growing mortgage loans, directing the sales and operations teams, as well as managing secondary market relations.
UNCLE Credit Union, Livermore, Calif., announced that April L. Black has joined the credit union as vice president of human resources. Black was formerly employed by Fremont Bank as director of human resources, where she delivered HR management initiatives, including employee relations, recruitment, policy planning, compensation, and program development. Her primary focus at UNCLE Credit Union will be to create HR strategies. Black has a bachelor of science in business administration, human resources from San Jose State University. In addition, she has earned the senior professional in human resources from the Society for Human Resources Management.
Ventura County Credit Union, Ventura, Calif., has hired Kathy Bochenek as their new home loan officer. Bochenek's focus will be on member service. She has 18 years of experience in the financial services industry. Bochenek spent six years in actuarial services for Prudential Asset Management Company. In addition, she has six years of experience in document compliance for IRS-qualified retirement plans for Price, Raffel and Brown Administrators, Inc. Bochenek has also worked for three years in mortgage loan origination, for one year as a credit analyst in mortgage services for Countrywide Financial, and for two years in retirement plan administration for Actuaries Unlimited Inc.
MIDWEST
Heritage Federal Credit Union, Newburgh, Ind., announced the promotions of Michelle Keeton and Corey Smith. Keeton has been promoted from branch manager of the Northfield branch in Evansville, Ind. to senior branch manager of the credit union's Bell Oaks branch in Newburgh, Ind. Keeton has worked for Heritage Federal Credit Union for nearly five years and has held various positions at the credit union. Smith has been promoted to senior branch manager of the Vogel Road branch in Evansville, Ind. from the assistant branch manager of the same location. Smith joined the credit union in September and has previous management experience with Integra and Enterprise.
Mazuma Credit Union, Kansas City, Mo., announced the promotion of four team members to a new, senior layer of executive management. The promotions represent part of an organizational structure change. Debbie Baumann, former vice president of operations, assumes the new position of chief operating officer with responsibility for all operational aspects of Mazuma's nine-branch network as well as the member support division. Dan Engelhard, former vice president of retail lending, now leads all Mazuma lending functions and responsibilities as newly appointed chief lending officer. Marie Shrake joined Mazuma in early 2012 as vice president of finance/chief financial officer. Shrake will continue to oversee all finance and accounting responsibilities as chief financial officer. Gordon Gregory, former vice president of technology, is now promoted to Mazuma's chief information officer. Matt Monge joined Mazuma this May as chief culture officer. Monge will also function as a team member in the new executive management level.
EAST
Sharon Credit Union, Sharon, Mass., announced that Edward Petras has joined as commercial banking officer. Petras will be responsible for expanding and developing new business relationships by providing lending and deposit services. Prior to joining Sharon Credit Union, Petras was vice president/business development officer with Rockland Trust, where he was responsible for working with new and existing small businesses. He has more than 13 years of experience in the banking industry, having worked in business and management roles for other financial institutions, including Sovereign Bank and Abington Savings Bank. Petras majored in sociology at Bridgewater State College and attended Mass Bankers School of Commercial Lending.
South Jersey Federal Credit Union, Deptford, N.J., has named Kenneth Barnshaw as its new vice president of governmental affairs. In his new role, Barnshaw will manage and develop relationships with government agencies. Barnshaw has more than 40 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry, including a prior four-year stint with South Jersey FCU, when he served as assistant vice president of business development. He returned to the credit union after serving 18 months as township manager of Deptford.
State Employees Credit Union, Linthicum, Md., has named Youssef M. Moradi business relationship banker. Moradi previously served as a relationship banker with M&T Bank. While at M&T Bank, he provided sales assistance to existing and walk-in clients, while also managing a book of 175 clients. He began his banking career in 2007 with Provident Bank, then transitioned to M&T Bank when the two institutions merged in 2009. Moradi is currently pursuing a degree in economics at Towson University.
TEG Federal Credit Union, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., announced that it has hired Keith Kurman to serve as its vice president of sales, service and branch operations. Kurman will responsible for overseeing the daily operations of TEG's six Dutchess County locations and local call center. Prior to joining TEG, he served as assistant vice president/branch manager for Empire State Bank's Newburgh, N.Y. branch. In his previous position, he was responsible for sales and customer service operations as well as business and residential lending. Before that, Kurman was the assistant vice president/senior branch manager at M&T Bank in Newburgh.
SOUTH
ABNB Federal Credit Union, Chesapeake, Va., announced that it has promoted Kelli Ragland from director of marketing to the vice president of marketing. Ragland has been with ABNB for more than seven years and has worked her way through the marketing department, starting her career with ABNB as the marketing assistant/web designer. During her time with ABNB, Ragland has led the credit union in all areas of marketing, including the re-branding campaign that began in 2010. Ragland has over 14 years of experience with marketing financial services. She earned her bachelor's degree in marketing from Old Dominion University.

myCUmortgage, Fairborn, Ohio, has named Steve Scheid as vice president of finance, CUSOs. Scheid will have responsibility for the finance and accounting of myCUmortgage, LLC and other selected CUSOs in which Wright-Patt CU has an interest. Scheid comes to myCUmortgage with more than 25 years of accounting and finance experience. His most recent position as senior vice president of PNC Bank, N.A., provided him with operational responsibilities including accounting, mortgage servicing, monetary operations and improving workflow processes. Steve graduated from the University of Dayton where he received a bachelor's degree in accounting. He is also a certified public accountant.
PSCU, St. Petersburg, Fla., has named Peter Halenar as its vice president of business development, partnerships and strategic alliances. Halenar will be responsible for developing, managing and growing the CUSO's alliance and partner programs that will deliver new product offerings and strengthen revenue generation for PSCU's credit unions. Prior to joining PSCU, Halenar was vice president of corporate business development and strategic alliances at Open Solutions. Halenar also held executive roles at Prudential Financial and First Source Federal Credit Union, and served in leadership and business development positions for several other financial institutions. A member of the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals and the Association of Financial Technology, Halenar holds a bachelor's degree in professional studies, business management and administration from the State University of New York.
