Investors with at least $100,000 in net worth named Apple as their brand of choice for smart phones and tablets, according to research from Spectrem Group.

Of those surveyed, 48% of mass affluent investors own Apple smart phones compared to 34% for Android phones. 

Forty-eight percent of investors with at least $1 million in net worth owned Apple smart phones compared with 33% with Android phones.

Fifty-nine percent of ultra-high net worth investors owned Apple phones versus 25% who Android phones, the survey's data showed, according to Spectrem, a strategic consulting and market research firm specializing in the affluent and retirement markets. Ultra high net worth investors have between $5 million and $25 million in assets to invest.

For tablets, 53% of mass affluent investors said they own Apple iPads compared to 16% with Kindle Fire tablets.

Sixty-one percent of millionaire investors use Apple iPads versus 15% who use Kindle Fire Fifty-percent of ultra high net worth investors said they own Apple tablets compared to 7% with Kindle Fire and 7% with Nook with Internet, Spectrem said.
