The $155 million Advance Financial Federal Credit Union of Schererville, Ind., said it gained 86 new checking accounts and increased its member base by 36 people following its three-month marketing campaign.

AFFCU said the promotion for new checking accounts ran from April through June. Both new and existing members were entered in a raffle to win a 42-inch LG HDTV and were given a $15 gift card to Best Buy for opening a checking account.

The average account balance for the 86 checking accounts was more than $700, AFFCU said in a statement.

The credit union said it now serves 20,000 members.
