The 72-year old Ohio Edison/Penn Power Credit Union has established a new brand identity–Edison Financial Credit Union. Exterior signs have been changed and now contain the new name and logo at the credit union's two locations in downtown Youngstown and in the Austintown Plaza.
The Youngstown, Ohio-based credit union was originally established to provide checking, savings and loan services solely to the employees of Ohio Edison and Penn Power. CEO David Beckhorn said that over the years, state regulations have changed to allow credit unions to serve a much wider cross-section of the community.
“Even though we've long served the larger community, the new brand name helps communicate that fact. Products and services offered by the credit union are available to all families and businesses in the tri-county area,” he said. The credit union has assets of $45.5 million.
