To ensure that members have a say on products and service decisions, FORUM Credit Union has created a small business advisory council.

The $953 million cooperative in Fishers, Ind., said the council is comprised of senior executives and small business owners who are active members of the credit union.

The council, which held its first official meeting in November, has met to discuss community involvement initiative for small business owners, FORUM's new online banking system, which launched in March, and a new checking account that will debut in the fall.

FORUM said the council members will serve a one-year term and meet quarterly to network with each other, create meeting agendas aimed at helping them grow their businesses, and provide input on credit union product and service initiatives.

According to Andy Mattingly, chief operating officer at FORUM, the Indianapolis-area credit union has been developing the concept of a small business advisory council for the past several years and is pleased that it now has its first council members in place.
