The $1.2 billion American Heritage Federal Credit Union said all teller transactions at its newest branch will be handled by a personal automated teller machine.
The branch just opened inside the Brown's Family ShopRite in Philadelphia's Roxborough neighborhood.
Also called video teller machines, they combine ATM functions with additional features and two-way video interaction with a remote teller. This one will handle all teller transactions, although a branch manager, assistant branch manager and member service officer also will be on site, the 115,000-member credit union said.
While the branch will be staffed by a branch manager, an assistant branch manager and a member service officer, all teller transactions will be handled through the PAT machine. The branch also includes a surcharge-free ATM.
It's the fourth location that American Heritage has deployed the machines. Most recently, one of the machines from uGenius of Sandy, Utah, was installed in December at the headquarters of one of the credit union's major SEGs.
