For the second year, the 156,000-member, $1.8 billion Grow Financial Federal Credit Union will participate in the St. Petersburg, Fla., Pride Festival.

The June 30 event is the largest gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender celebration in Florida, the credit union said.

Grow said its employees would work a booth during the event and hand vouchers for free memberships, beads, and hand held fans to help participants keep cool during the event.

The event fits into a calendar of similar events that Grow does to celebrate diversity among its members and the community at large, including catered lunch events that feature the cuisines of different ethnic groups.

“Celebrating diversity is embedded in our corporate culture,” said Kim Woollard, the credit union's senior vice president of Human Resources and People Development.

“At Grow Financial, we strive to transform our workplace into environments where people are valued for their uniqueness, and participating in the pride parade is just one of the ways we can celebrate our diverse workplace,” Woollard said.
