The $6.7 billion Security Service Federal Credit Union of San Antonio said Monday its foundation has approved a $10,000 donation to the American Red Cross Northern Colorado Chapter to help assist victims of the Fort Collins wildfires, which has now destroyed the most homes – at least 181 – in the state's history.

The Security Service Charitable Foundation said its branches in Fort Collins, Greeley, Longmont and Loveland are currently collecting donations to aid families affected by the fire.

“Several Security Service members have reported homes being lost and others suffered property damage,” said President/CEO David Reynolds. “Our hearts go out to those affected and we will do everything we can to assist in this difficult time.”

SSFCU said also it is offering short-term, low-interest emergency loans for its members affected by the disaster. SSFCU has 875,000 members and branches in Texas, Colorado, Utah and overseas.
