The Credit Union Executives Society has more than its 50th anniversary to celebrate.

CUES' individual memberships have grown to more than 10,000, representing a 50% membership growth since 2009, the organization said.

“The increase in our membership base demonstrates that although there are fewer credit unions in the industry, the movement continues to be vibrant,” said Fred Johnson, president/CEO of CUES in Madison, Wis. “And, the fact that this milestone was reached during our 50th anniversary makes it especially significant.”

In addition to the introduction of new memberships including CUES NextGen individual membership, growth has been attributed to other strategic moves ranging from a shift to make staff development affordable for credit unions of all sizes to the launch of the Center for Credit Union Board Excellence, the organization said.
