The $4 billion Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union is now offering its 388,000 members two new mobile banking applications.

One is a Kindle Fire app available on the Amazon Appstore and the other is for large-screen Android tablets and is available on Google Play, PSECU said. Both were developed for the Harrisburg, Pa., credit union by Vertifi Software LLC of Burlington, Mass.

Functionality includes balances and histories, transfers, bill pay, ATM locators and remote deposit check capture. PSECU already had been offering mobile apps for Android phones and tablets and Apple's iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

The credit union said it last introduced a new mobile app to its PSECU Mobile+ service in September and since then has seen 41,906 account enrollments. In April, there were 397,928 logins from 31,716 unique, active members, PSECU said.

“The Vertifi team collaborated with PSECU to quickly and efficiently develop superior apps, and we are pleased to be one of the first credit unions in the nation to be represented on the Amazon Appstore,” said Christopher Owens, PSECU mobile product manager.

Vertifi Software is a subsidiary of EasCorp and said it now provides mobile apps and other services to more than 200 financial institutions.
