The $1.4 billion Indiana Members Credit Union participated in National Volunteer Week last month by getting into some tree planting. In this case, it was at IPS School # 44, Riverside Elementary, in Indianapolis. IMCU has partnered with the school all year, collecting and donating, through numerous drives, more than 6,000 items for their food pantry, 130 hand-crocheted hats and 500 handmade scarves by IMCU staff, 120 pairs of socks and 200 pairs of gloves and under garments, in addition to donating school uniforms to every student in 2011 and 2012.
Mandy Emery, assistant vice president for community relations at IMCU, said, "We had about a dozen children volunteer with us to plant the four trees. We look forward to maintaining this relationship with IPS School 44."
