The $132 million JetStream Federal Credit Union in Miami Lakes, Fla., recently sponsored the first Operation SAFEE Flight fly-in and educational expo at the Opa-locka Airport's Orion Aviation Center. More than 2,000 Miami-Dade County middle and high school students attended the two-day event, aimed at exposing them to the world of aviation careers. The credit union worked with the FAA, the air traffic controllers' association and the county aviation department to put on the event. “It's very rewarding to participate in an event that educates local students and encourages them to consider careers in our South Florida aviation community,” said JetStream FCU President/CEO Jeanne Kucey. JetStream has seven branches in Miami Lakes, Doral and Hialeah, Fla., and in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

A ribbon cutting got things under way.

The 17,000-member JetStream FCU also staffed a booth at the event.
