The $180 million Alcoa Tenn Federal Credit Union is the first to go live on a new mobile bill pay offering from PSCU, the big CUSO said.
The service allows existing PayLynx bill pay users to make one-time payments, manage pending payments and view payment histories on through iPhone, Android and BlackBerry apps.
“We knew adults under 30 were not going to walk through the door of our branch. We needed to reach out to them and offer the convenient mobile capabilities they expect from a financial services provider,” said Sarah Lawson, information technology specialist at the 19,500-member credit union in Alcoa, Tenn.
The launch follows by a few months the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based CUSO's launch of “triple play” mobile banking through text, mobile Web browser and downloadable apps, PSCU said.
Alcoa Tenn said the initial soft rollout will be followed by TV commercials on its mobile offering as summer begins.
