The $3 billion Mountain America Federal Credit Union of West Jordan, Utah, is expanding its Idaho footprint by taking over a vacant bank branch in Boise.

Mountain America said the facility would be its first in the capital city after getting a toehold last March in Pocatello by merging the $15 million Pocahy Family FCU.

Kevan Barney, vice president of marketing at Mountain America, said the Boise facility was purchased from Home Federal Bank of Nampa and will open in July after remodeling. It will be the Utah credit union's fifth Idaho branch.

A spokesman for Home Federal Bank said the branch was closed last year because it overlapped with existing branches in the area.
