The $1.2 billion System United Corporate FCU said Thursday it has successfully recruited 26 new member credit unions from Western Bridge Corporate FCU, including 19 from California.
In an interview with Credit Union Times, Mark Schieffer, executive vice president at SunCorp, said in January the Westminster, Colo.-based corporate had set a target of recruiting “around 30” Western Bridge users.
“We are so happy to have added all of these new members from the West and we welcome them to SunCorp,” said Thomas Graham, president/CEO, said in Thursday's announcement. “Our member-focused Business Development and Implementation staff has done a great job receiving and serving our newest members.”
SunCorp said it transitioned the credit unions from Western Bridge Corporate in an average of 38 business days, including three conversions that were completed in less than 30 business days.
To meet the needs of these new members in the Pacific Time Zone, SunCorp is extending service hours and transaction deadlines, and also opened new relationships with western vault and courier providers to serve coin and currency needs.
“We've been through an awful lot of conversions in just the last year, and this is the very best one we've done to date,” said Shon Wellborn, president/CEO of the $55 million Community Credit Union of Southern Humboldt in Garberville, Calif.
