The $965 million Allegacy Federal Credit Union in Winston-Salem, N.C., has opened a new financial center in the Wake Forest BioTech Place.

The new branch is across the street from the longtime Fifth Street location that was sold earlier this year by the 107,000-member Allegacy. The 3,500-square-foot facility adds space for investment and wealth-management services and includes a drive through and ATM.

“We are excited about the move which allows us to remain in the area to serve our existing member base here as well as offer a great service for the many new biotech, research and other companies that will become our neighbors,” said Ira Williams, the credit union's assistant vice president of Financial Center Operations.

Allegacy now has 14 branches and six high school student-run credit unions in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School system.
