Six people and two credit unions have been named as winners in NAFCU's annual awards competition and will be honored at the trade group's 45th Annual Conference and Exhibition on July 24-28 in Nashville, Tenn.
Credit union of the year in the under $150 million category is Pioneer West Virginia FCU in Charleston, W.Va., while SeaComm FCU in Massena, N.Y., won that honor in the $150 million and more category.
Gerald Bolduc of Monroe County Teachers FCU in Key West, Fla., is CEO of the Year in the small credit union category while John Tippets of North Island CU in San Diego won among large credit unions, NAFCU said.
Professionals of the Year are Linda Hennings of Campco FCU in Gillette, Wyo., among small credit unions and Bonnie Ciuffo of South Carolina FCU of North Charleston, S.C., among large credit unions.
NAFCU said Volunteer of the Year in the less than $150 million category is Doug Spitler of Electrical FCU in Arvada, Colo., while Carl Rummel of Missoula FCU in Missoula, Mont., won that award from among credit unions of $150 million or more.
The awards will be presented during a breakfast ceremony on July 26, NAFCU said.
“In terms of membership growth and public awareness, 2011 was a banner year for credit unions,” said NAFCU President/CEO Fred Becker. “NAFCU is especially pleased to recognize these exceptional credit union leaders whose accomplishments are shining examples of what makes our industry great.”
