Iowa's Alliant Credit Union is expanding its footprint in the eastern portion of the state by opening a second branch in Cedar Rapids in October.

The $87 million credit union headquartered in Dubuque said the new facility will accommodate growing business tied in part to a sponsor, Alliant Energy Co. The full service facility will include ATM, lock boxes and free off street parking.

Construction will start on the facility next month.

Alliant currently has three offices in Dubuque. Alliant opened its first Cedar Rapids branch more than a decade ago.
