Maryland & District of Columbia Credit Union Association, Columbia, Md., recently announced the hiring of Bridget Crawley as the director of marketing and communications. In this position, Crawley will oversee all marketing, branding strategies and media relations for the association. She is responsible for strengthening credibility, enhancing visibility and promoting the value of credit unions. While new to the association, Crawley is no newcomer to the world of marketing and public relations. She has 10 years of public relations, marketing and special event experience, along with a background in television and film production. Bridget holds an MBA in marketing from the Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in mass media from Clark Atlanta University. During the course of her career, she has worked at companies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, D&R International, Fox News Channel, O'Keefe & Co. and most recently United Way of Central Maryland.
Pawtucket Credit Union, Pawtucket, R.I., announced the promotions of Kim Denny, Richard Hall and Kristin Rojas. Denny has been promoted to vice president/employee development and training. Her overall responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of employee training, including knowledge of and adherence to federal regulatory requirements as well as procedural development. She also leads PCU's employee recognition and member services programs. Kim has been with the credit union for over 10 years and previously served as AVP/employee development and training. Hall has been promoted to assistant vice president/data services. His overall responsibilities include managing and updating the credit union's core banking platform and all electronic channels including internet banking, commercial online banking, mobile banking and ATMs. Hall has been with the credit union for over 12 years and previously served as data services manager. Rojas has been promoted to assistant vice president/financial literacy and community outreach. Her overall responsibilities include overseeing the credit union's statewide financial literacy program as well as managing charitable donations and sponsorships. She holds a B.A. from the University of Rhode Island and is a CCD teacher for St. Luke's Parish.
MIDWEST
CEFCU, Peoria, Ill., announced the retirement of Sandy Andrews. Andrews has been an employee of CEFCU for 34 years, serving as the CU's chief operating officer since October 2005. Andrews' retirement is effective March 1. Matt Mamer was named the new chief operating officer; Doug Hanley has been promoted to vice president of business services; Dianna Hunter and Rick Bentley assume new management positions; Tracy Denning, Emmy Hangartner and Kerstin McGowan have been promoted to new management positions; and, Debbie Mead, downtown member center manager, will retire. Mamer, the current vice president of business services, has been promoted to chief operations officer and will oversee the CU's daily operations and member service. His responsibilities include CEFCU's member centers, contact center, marketing, CEFCU financial services and community relations. Hanley's new responsibilities include directing daily operations of the business lending, business development and business credit operations departments. Hunter's new responsibilities include identifying and developing business opportunities and overseeing office operations. Bentley's new responsibilities include identifying and developing business opportunities and overseeing office operations. Denning's new responsibilities include overseeing the administration and maintenance of CEFCU's information technology infrastructure, as well as directing network staff.
First Community Federal Credit Union, Plainwell, Mich., announced the addition of Sharrie Yingling as the branch manager for the Plainwell location. Yingling comes to First Community FCU with 15 years of experience in consumer and commercial lending. She has an NMLS lending certification and knowledge of the lending processes utilized in both financial institutions and automobile finance companies.
Summit Credit Union, Madison, Wis., celebrated Linda Rauls' 20th year with the financial. Rauls, a card services specialist, joined Summit in 1991 as a teller for the Sun Prairie branch. She has also held positions in accounting and operations support both at the financial's Sun Prairie office and headquarters in Madison. Rauls is a graduate of LaFollette High School and holds an associate degree in accounting from Madison Area Technical College.
Veridian Credit Union, Waterloo, Iowa, announced that William J. Kalianov has been hired to the position of manager of commercial lending. Kalianov was previously employed at Liberty Bank as the senior vice president. He has a bachelor's degree in finance and a master's degree from the University of Northern Iowa.

Local Government Federal Credit Union, Raleigh, N.C., announced the appointment of David Dear to its board of directors. Dear, recently retired as the Cleveland County manager, was appointed to fill the seat left vacant by the retirement of Director Emeritus Jack Scoville. Dear, who resides in Shelby, N.C., worked for Cleveland County for 34 years, the last eight as county manager. He is credited with bringing industry and jobs to the area despite a struggling economy. He has been an LGFCU member since 1988, serving on the volunteer advisory council since 2009. He is also one of the nominees the board selected for appointment for the 2012-15 term. This election will take place at the credit union's annual meeting on April 27.
