First Florida Credit Union, Jacksonville, Fla., appointed LaTisha J. Thompson to serve on its board of directors. Thompson brings 10 years of human resources management and leadership experience to First Florida. She is the director and strategic human resources business partner for CSX Transportation Inc., where she has strategic oversight for over 30,000 management and union employees. In 2010, she was recognized with the CSX Chairman's Award of Excellence. In addition to her career experience, Thompson serves on the board of directors of the Hubbard House and the National African American Women's Leadership Institute. Thompson received a bachelor of science in marketing from Troy State University, and she received a master of arts in human resources management and development from Webster University. She also earned a senior professional in human resources designation.

Freedom Credit Union, Warminster, Pa., announced the promotion of Susan Baranowski,  who assumes the newly created role of vice president of human resources. Baranowski joins Freedom with 15 years of human resources, training and development experience, including recent positions as director of workforce development at Bucks County Community College and as vice president with the Jones Group. Baranowski is a graduate of Drexel University and is an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management. Also new to Freedom is Gerard McGeever, who will assume the position of vice president of marketing. He has  nine years of credit union industry experience and an MBA from LaSalle University.

NMTW Community Credit Union, Lowell, Mass., announced that Rebecca Scaglione has taken the role of home financing consultant.  Scaglione brings 20 years of mortgage and banking experience to NMTW CCU, having worked previously at Pentucket Bank in Haverhill and Wells Fargo Bank in Andover. 

TEG Federal Credit Union, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., announced that it has hired Arthur Anderson as senior mortgage officer and Beverly Bates as senior mortgage underwriter.  It has also promoted James Lentz to business development officer.  All three join the credit union's new residential and commercial lending department.  Anderson joins TEG with 25 years of sales and management experience. In his new position, Anderson is responsible for procuring new commercial and residential mortgage transactions for the credit union.  Prior to joining TEG, Anderson served as the New York-area manager for Weichert Financial.  He has also held management positions at Bank of America, Warwick Savings Bank and the Bank of New York.  Anderson earned a BS in accounting from Chowan University.  He has also served as a disbursing officer in the U.S. Navy and chief purser in the U.S. Merchant Marines. Bates joins TEG with  27 years of mortgage underwriting experience. In her new position, Bates will be responsible for underwriting and approving mortgage products.  Prior to joining TEG, Bates served as a mortgage underwriter for Provident Bank.  She has also held underwriting positions of increasing responsibility at organizations such as Genworth Financial, Countrywide Home Loans, Warwick Savings Bank, Keycorp Mortgages Inc., Home Funding Inc., Empbanque Capital Corp. and Norstar Mortgage Corp. Lentz started his career with TEG in 2008 as a teller and has since served the credit union in numerous positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as manager of the Beekman branch.  In his new position, Lentz will develop and implement programs to attract new business relationships to the credit union.   He earned a BS in economics and math from Pace University.  He is an affiliate member of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors and is involved with the Mid-Hudson Valley Mortgage Bankers Association.

SOUTH

America's First Federal Credit Union, Birmingham, Ala., announced Teresa Reno Owens as the new vice president-controller. Owens has been with America's First for 19 years and was formerly the assistant vice president of finance and accounting.

Firstmark Credit Union, San Antonio,  had its board of directors honor James Muir, secretary/treasurer of the board, for his 60 years of dedicated service. Muir has held the positions of secretary and executive committee member since 1984.  His service began in 1951 when he first joined the board of directors. At that time, the CU was the San Antonio Teachers Credit Union. Muir served 35 years as a teacher with the San Antonio ISD and holds a bachelor of business administration degree and a master of education. A World War II veteran, Muir enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1940 and obtained his commission as an officer in 1942.  He served as an active duty serviceman in locations such as North Africa, Sicily, Normandy, North France, Ardennes and Rhineland. Muir is also an active member of the San Antonio Area Retired Teachers Association.

Security Service Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, announced the selection of Kay Barclay to serve as the manager of consumer lending. Barclay will be responsible for managing the underwriting, processing, closing and servicing of consumer and home equity loans. She has  25 years in the banking industry and previously worked as the executive director of Home Equity Lending for USAA Federal Savings Bank.

 italMailer, Herndon, Va., announced that it has hired Mark Milligan as vice president, sales and business development. Milligan will support the firm's growing presence in strategic e-delivery products and services. Previously, Milligan cofounded a global provider of electronic messaging services for international financial institutions. He also managed a London-based marketing and sales organization with offices in four countries, and participated in the launch of a UK company that offers e-billing services to finance companies and local governments.
