Member business lending was among the topics discussed at a recent meeting between representatives from Pennsylvania credit unions and some of the state's congressmen.

According to the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association, the $1.1 billion American Heritage Federal Credit Union in Philadelphia recently met with Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.).

Fitzpatrick and representatives from six Pennsylvania CUs along with several organizations discussed some of the industry's pressing issues including MBLs, oversight from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, supplemental capital and an increase in regulations.

A member of the House Financial Services Committee, Fitzpatrick is a longtime CU member, according the PCUA. He is scheduled to attend CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference this week, the association said.

U.S. Rep. Tim Holden (D-Pa.) also met with seven credit union representatives last week during an introduction meeting to learn more about their concerns. Holden is a co-sponsor of MBL legislation and has backed credit unions on interchange concerns, according to the PCUA.
