The $4.7 billion Alaska USA FCU is expanding its metro Seattle footprint this month by making its first entry into suburban Puyallup.

The Anchorage credit union said it opened an in-store branch in a Top Food & Drug store March 1. The Puyallup branch is Alaska USA's 20th in Washington state. Alaska USA opened its first branch in Washington nearly 30 years ago and said since then other companies in the Alaska USA corporate group have joined, including Alaska USA Insurance Brokers and Alaska USA Mortgage Co., both with offices in western Washington.

Alaska USA has 440,000 members and operates 61 branches in Alaska, California and Washington.
